Why garage floors fail in Louisiana — and how we stop it
Almost every failed garage floor we are called to replace failed for one of three reasons, and all three are preventable in the preparation, not the coating.
Hot-tire pickup
You park a hot car on a cheap coating and the tire lifts the finish straight off the slab. Our polyaspartic topcoat is built for thermal shock, so tires do not pull it up.
Slab moisture
South Louisiana has a high water table. Ground moisture pushes up through the concrete and pops a coating off from underneath. We install a moisture vapor barrier as standard.
No real prep
Box-store kits and cheap installers roll over sealed, dusty concrete. We diamond-grind the slab to open the pores, and repair every crack, before anything is coated.

Garage floor coating — FAQ
How long does a garage floor take?
Most residential garages are a one-day install. Our flake system is finished in a single day, and you can walk on it after about 24 hours and park on it after 72 hours. Metallic floors and jobs that need old coating removed take longer, and we tell you that at the quote rather than on the day.
Will hot tires pull the coating up?
No. Hot-tire pickup is what destroys most cheap garage floors, including box-store kits. We finish with a polyaspartic topcoat rated for the thermal shock a hot tire puts into a floor, so the coating stays bonded.
My old floor is cracked and stained. Can you go over it?
Yes. Cracks, spalls, and old failed coatings are dealt with during preparation. We diamond-grind the slab, remove whatever is failing, and repair the concrete before any new coating goes down.
Why do the kits from the hardware store peel?
Preparation and moisture. Those kits are rolled onto concrete that has not been ground open, and they carry no moisture vapor barrier. In South Louisiana, ground moisture pushes up through the slab and lifts the coating from underneath, usually within a year or two.
What colors can I get?
Flake comes in a wide range of blends, and we bring physical sample boards to the on-site measure so you can see and handle the actual chips. Custom blends are available and take longer to order, so tell us early if you want one.
What does a garage floor cost?
Every quote is a fixed lump-sum price based on your actual floor, its condition, and the system you choose. The measure is free and takes about twenty minutes. We do not quote a price over the phone, because a slab with a moisture problem and a slab without one are two different jobs.
Is the floor under warranty?
Garage floors are covered by our 5-Year Limited Warranty against peeling, blistering, delamination and UV yellowing under normal use. You receive the full warranty document with your estimate. Residential projects sold before 15 September 2026 remain covered by the Limited Lifetime Warranty that was in effect at the time of sale.
